// Japan!//

Coincidence that I finally finished this Japan-themed mix the day before Christmas? I don’t think so. I wanted to give you something special this year. Okay, maybe it was a coincidence after all. At any rate, hope you have a nice holiday season and get a chance to play this mix in your headphones. Please comment afterwards if you do give it a spin. I’d love to hear how you liked it (or hated it). I had a really tough time trimming the number of tracks down to even 17. There was a lot more I wanted to include. Japan is definitely a treasure trove for good music.

1. The Books: “Tokyo”
2. Shugo Tokumaru: “Parachute”
3. Kama Aina: “Worms in ‘71”
4. Xavier Cugat: “Jungle Drums”
5. Kazumasu Hashimoto: “Clair de Lune”
6. Takagi Masakatsu: “Girls”
7. Lily Chou-Chou: “Arabesuku”
8. Susumu Yokota: “Saku”
9. Radical Fashion: “Suna”
10. Fonica: “Rusl”
11. Asobi Seksu: “New Years”
12. Polysics: “Black Out Fall Out”
13. Boris: “Akuma No Uta”
14. Cornelius: “Cue”
15. Aus: “Sora”
16. Piana: “Early in Summer”
17. Chihei Hatakeyama: “Starlight Reflecting on the Surface of the River”

note: I realize that Xavier Cugat & the Books are not Japanese. And yet those songs still remind me very much of Japan (The Books’ song for obvious reasons).
